Beautiful landscapes and the surrounding nature.
At Nay, respect for staff schedules and work schedules is impeccable.
The landscapes are very close to the Pyrenees, and the people are very friendly.
The rural setting is beautiful, and the people in the villages are very welcoming.

CONS

If you don't have a car, it's difficult to get around, whether it's to work or to go shopping or for any other needs that the town you're in doesn't meet.
The towns are small and uncrowded (except Nay). If you don't have a car or bike, it's difficult to get around.
The weather: it's been rainy and cold for three months (March-June). If you don't have your own vehicle, it's difficult to get around the area.
You'll need a car or take the bus to visit other nearby places.

The entire pre-Pyrenees area and its villages.
Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Biarritz are just 1 hour and 30 minutes from Nay, and can be reached by train and visited over a weekend. Lourdes is very beautiful and can be visited in a day.
The Pau Museum of Fine Arts and the Lestelle Betharram Sanctuary.

A GOOD PLACE TO EAT OR HAVE A DRINK IN PAYS DE NAY IS...

Restaurant El Alguacil in Pau.
In Nay, you can eat at Chanzy. A bistro with a daily menu and typical French food. Homemade and good.
Le Garage and Kim, also in Pau.

TIPS IF YOU GO TO PAYS DE NAY

If you can, bring your own car or bicycle. Nay is only 2 hours and 30 minutes from Pamplona, and getting around without your own vehicle is difficult.
The Nouvelle Aquitaine region has a very good train network, if there is a station nearby. Buy a youth ticket to make it cheaper.
It's very easy to get around the villages by bike. Take advantage of being in the Pyrenees to go for walks in the mountains.
