SASSUOLO
PROS
- It's centrally located and has connections to many well-known Italian cities. It's a good strategic point for seeing parts of Italy.
- It's a city with two train stations, so travel connections are very good.
- The people are generally very friendly, and their Italian is easier to understand than in the south.
CONS
- The city buses finish early, which sometimes creates a feeling of insecurity.
- Student apartment complexes are somewhat far from the center.
REGARDING ACCOMMODATION...
"It's not bad at all. In our case, it was a theater residence, with a lot of life, rehearsals, performances... Although sometimes the noise and movement of people were annoying."
"We were far from the center. As for the residence, we had almost no privacy since there was a lot of traffic using our common areas."
"The ETOILE Theater Residency is an old house about an hour from the city center and about 40 minutes from the nearest medical center. In my opinion, it's not the most suitable place to stay. Those in charge would walk through our part of the house without asking permission, at all hours of the day. We weren't allowed to fry food because of the smell; the furniture was quite shabby... Plus, they would start rehearsing plays on weekdays around 9 p.m., with excessive volume, and they wouldn't finish until late. They forced us to close all the windows in our house if there were performances...
A GOOD PLACE TO EAT OR HAVE A DRINKS IN SASSUOLO IS...
- In the center of Reggio Emilia, any restaurant or pizzeria.
- Dimmelotu, in Piazza Antonio Fontanessi.
